CAMPUS LIFE

CAMPUS LIFE

My life in campus with a “Mubaba”
I remember I was so broke; I had gone to do some shopping. At the supermarket I meet this mubaba, he was kind and generous. He paid for my shopping and gave me Sh15,000 in cash. I was so humbled. He drove me back to my apartment. I invited my friend over told her about my encounter. At first, she tried to stop me. Telling it was dangerous and he was married. I thought she was just being jealous.
During our subsequent conversations, he asked me to accompany him to Mombasa, which I accepted. We traveled a lot I was falling behind on my lecturers. I deferred for one year to focus on my new found love. I moved out from the apartment my father rented for me. I moved in a house he got for me. He financed everything. I lost all my friends and got new ones that were friends with our sugar daddies. All we did was travel and spending money and in return I fulfilled His every wish and desire.

After about 8 months he started to ghost me. I rarely started seeing him, he stopped sending money as he used to. My rent was also delayed. Eventually I found him at out frequently visited restaurant only to find him with another lady. She was much younger and prettier than me.
It was at this moment that I realized that I didn’t have anything going for myself. I had wasted my time on a man who would never marry me. I cried for weeks un end. I was sad and depressed for a long time trying to cling to a lifestyle that I couldn’t afford.
I went back to school to finish my course. I had wasted so much time.
